Finals of the Primary & Junior High and All-Age Schools under 15 Netball Competition

The final match of the Manchester Co-operative Credit Union Sponsored Netball Competition was played on June 28, 2005 at Brooks Park in Mandeville. The match was played between Mandeville Primary & Junior High and Mizpah All-Age School. Mandeville emerged champions while Mizpah and Harry Watch finished second and third respectively.

A total of twelve schools participated in this year’s competition with twenty-eight games being played during the season. A presentation ceremony was held following the final game. In addition to representatives from the Credit Union, there were also invited guests in attendance. They included Mr. Ian Andrews and Mr. Bruce McFarlane, Directors from the office of Insports. Greetings also came from Mr. Pat Anderson, former president of the JAAA. Members of the press were also in attendance to cover the event.

Prizes

It was a keenly contested match played between Mandeville Primary & Junior High and Mizpah All-Age. In the end, Mandeville Primary & Junior High School defeated their opponents by 1 point (28-27) to come away with the Manchester Co-operative Credit Union trophy. The winning school also received $50,000.00 cash and gold medals for each team member. Second place winner, Mizpah All-Age School, received $20,000.00 cash for the school and silver medals for the team. The third place play-off was awarded to Harrywatch All-Age School after a no-show from New Forest Primary & Junior High School. Harrywatch All-Age received bronze medals and a shield for being the most disciplined team. Latoya Fearon of Mandeville Primary & Junior High was presented with the Most Valuable Player award and the top goal scorer with 158 points throughout the competition. The Best Defensive Player award went to Kimeshia Hanson of Mizpah All-Age School while Sari-Ann Young of Mandeville Primary & Junior High School received the Best Centre Court award.
