International Credit Union Week 2006
This year’s International Credit Union Week started on October 15, 2006 with a National Church Service put on by the Credit Union League. Manchester Co-op hosted a series of Member Appreciation Days on October 18, 19 & 20 at the Christiana, Mandeville and Porus branches respectively. The theme this year was “Credit Union: Making a world of difference.”
Manchester
commenced its series of member appreciation days in Christiana on
October 18, 2006. Members were treated with souvenirs, refreshments
and they were entertained by the Zion Hill Cultural Group. Members
also received discounted prices on phones at the Digicel booth and
nurses were present to provide health checks.
The 19th of October was officially celebrated as International Credit Union Day and the Mandeville branch’s member appreciation day. There was a lunch hour concert in the car park featuring the Zion Hill Cultural Group along with Brushy One String from the Digicel Rising Star competition. Members were treated with enticing refreshment, souvenirs and health checks from nurses of the Mandeville hospital.
The
members of the Porus branch received similar treats on the 20th
of October resulting in three days of exciting activities.
The week’s activities came to an end with a service of worship at the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Porus on October 22, 2006. A big thank you is extended to all the members who supported the activities held during International Credit Union Week.
